Sean Burgoine

Pedagogic Phonetics and English Phonology
Sean is from Melbourne, Australia. His current research focus is in the area of pedagogic phonetics and English phonology, especially with regards to suprasegmentals. He is also interested in non-native speaker (NNS) English language use, and issues related to English as a Lingua Franca.

主な授業題目と内容紹介

While an understanding of grammar and vocabulary are essential aspects of language learning, pronunciation instruction and issues related to English phonology are too often ignored. In an increasingly globalized society where non-native speakers communicate with each other more than ever in English, students need to develop pronunciation skills and an increased awareness of language issues to prepare themselves for more effective international communication. All of my courses focus on this important area.
